What People are Saying

"Susan DeFace Washington is the real deal. She is one of the most powerful, heartwarming, spirit filled speakers we have been blessed to hear. Women of all ages were  blessed by her testimony and her message of hope, forgiveness and God's redeeming love for all people no matter the circumstances in your past or present situation.  We have had many speakers for our Women's Events at First Baptist Church Carrollton and  I can honestly say Susan ranks as one of the most outstanding speakers we have had."

- Beverly Anderson, Women's Ministry Coorinator for First Baptist Church of Carrollton

"I have practiced criminal law for over twenty years, as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, and I have witnessed up-close the devastating consequences of drug addiction. Prison has a way of getting your attention, and yet, I have seen many disingenuous and counterfeit “jailhouse conversions” in desperate attempts to game the system and receive leniency. I can assure you, there is nothing fake or phony about Susan and her relationship with, and devotion to, Jesus Christ.

Through faith and perseverance, she has found transforming freedom and undeniable peace and purpose. Susan is the real deal and she possesses a compelling life story and inspiring testimony of God’s unconditional love, saving grace and redemptive power."

- Joe Shearin, Criminal Defense Attorney

  _____________

We recently had Susan DeFace Washington come and speak at our monthly ladies group at our church. After speaking with Susan to learn more about her story, I couldn’t wait to have her present to our ladies.

When the day finally came, Susan brought her support team, Power Point, and an infectious spirit. Susan was very open and willing to share her story. Her transparency gave us a glimpse into her world that began with pain, lies, and sadness but ends in the victory and joy that can only come from having a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Her story communicated so many things in such a short time. Her story communicates the power of hope, forgiveness, and how nothing we can do will separate us from the love of Jesus.

"I have had the opportunity to hear Susan DeFace Washington speak on more than one occasion. After hearing her story, all I could think was that it was one of the most courageous testimonies I have ever heard. She is living proof of God’s power and grace."

Susan, I loved looking at this slide show of Alexis life. She was a beautiful young lady inside and out. I am praying for you as you walk this journey day to day. Losing someone so close to us is so incredibly hard. I know you are walking close with your comforter, Jesus and I know He will meet you right where you are each moment of each day. I love you Susan and praying for continued peace and strength as you and your family walk this road arm in arm. Blessings and thank you for being such a wonderful testimony to so many, as was your daughter.

Susan,
I just returned from the service for your Alexis Rose where her memory was honored and her spirit was celebrated so beautifully. My prayers will continue for you and your family as you lean on Him in the days ahead.

Susan, I think back to February 13 when we met you and I know that God had a hand in all of that. I also know that her recovery is, in part, due to you and your prayer warriors. God put you here to help people and that's exactly what you're doing. Thank you for everything and for your continued prayers!

Susan - Your presentation to our 5th grade students last week was outstanding and emotional. I've never seen our students so captivated by a speaker, as they were with you. They seemed to connect with you. I believe that listening to your story really made a difference in their lives. You reaffirmed that it's all about choices. The teachers were commenting all day, what a great speech you gave to our students. Thank you so much!

You're climbing that ladder Susan - and doing it with a great spirit. What a fantastic time to be you? :) (the smiley face is in your honor - it's your trademark!)

I met susan in April 2010 when I was locked up in Dawson. She was very forward and truthful about her past and I comend her for that. She is one heck of a inspiring and strong woman and I am greatful I got to meet her and hear her testimony. She has come so far in her life after what she has delt with in her past. If I could be half the woman she is I would be so blessed. Cant wait to actually get to read her whole book
