What People are Saying

"Susan DeFace Washington is the real deal. She is one of the most powerful, heartwarming, spirit filled speakers we have been blessed to hear. Women of all ages were  blessed by her testimony and her message of hope, forgiveness and God's redeeming love for all people no matter the circumstances in your past or present situation.  We have had many speakers for our Women's Events at First Baptist Church Carrollton and  I can honestly say Susan ranks as one of the most outstanding speakers we have had."

- Beverly Anderson, Women's Ministry Coorinator for First Baptist Church of Carrollton

"I have practiced criminal law for over twenty years, as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, and I have witnessed up-close the devastating consequences of drug addiction. Prison has a way of getting your attention, and yet, I have seen many disingenuous and counterfeit “jailhouse conversions” in desperate attempts to game the system and receive leniency. I can assure you, there is nothing fake or phony about Susan and her relationship with, and devotion to, Jesus Christ.

Through faith and perseverance, she has found transforming freedom and undeniable peace and purpose. Susan is the real deal and she possesses a compelling life story and inspiring testimony of God’s unconditional love, saving grace and redemptive power."

- Joe Shearin, Criminal Defense Attorney

We recently had Susan DeFace Washington come and speak at our monthly ladies group at our church. After speaking with Susan to learn more about her story, I couldn’t wait to have her present to our ladies.

When the day finally came, Susan brought her support team, Power Point, and an infectious spirit. Susan was very open and willing to share her story. Her transparency gave us a glimpse into her world that began with pain, lies, and sadness but ends in the victory and joy that can only come from having a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Her story communicated so many things in such a short time. Her story communicates the power of hope, forgiveness, and how nothing we can do will separate us from the love of Jesus.

Susan, Happy Birthday. I almost feel like it was me and everyone you are going to reach are the ones that got a present today instead of you. :) I cannot wait to see the final book so I can read everything all together instead of just parts. You are an amazing woman of God and you are so very special. I am so excited to see all the lives you touch with a book and a blog. Love you my friend. Hope your day is awesome.

Mom, I'm so proud of you and all you have done with your life. Not many people understand fully what you went threw as well as I. But writing this book will change all of that. I'm so glad its working out for you and you are now one step closer to getting your story out there for the whole world to see. Not many people have the strength that you have and the courage to keep moving forward and that's what so many people need these days. I love you and am so proud Of you.

Happy Birthday Susan! How wonderful of you to give us the gift of your story!

Your way with words makes me feel like I am right there with you, feeling all of your emotions. And because I've watched the video of your testimony, I can actually hear you in my mind, saying the words - BONUS! I think you are a truly amazing person and I feel so very fortunate that I met you and am now able to be a part of all of this; you inspire me! I wish you the very best of luck but somehow I don't think you'll need luck - YOU ROCK!

Happy Birthday! This makes me so happy. Some people search Helpful Hints from Heloise to find out how to remove red wine stains from white linen; I go to Susan Deface Washington to make it out of the house sometimes. I so love that you're taking your journey to the next level. By answering your calling and embracing your gift, you are going to reach so many people. Thank God for putting you on this earth!!!
Love, Julie

Susan's story of heartbreak, perserverance, courage, redemption and hope is one that touches me deeply. Knowing the beautiful, intelligent cheerleader from high school, one would never suspect her home was filled with sadness and solitude. The careful mask she wore concealed the pain that eventually led her to a life of drug addiction and eventually prison. Susan is an amazing woman who tells her story with unabashed honesty, self deprecating humor and hope. I'm so proud and excited for her as she embarks on this journey as shares her message of the redemptive power of God's love.
